Here is the list of the top 5 YouTube videos of 2023 from my Tea and Forget-me-nots YouTube Channel. Including decor, Christmas crafts and furniture.

Videos bring tutorials to life. It’s so much easier to explain a process in a video than a photo.

I enjoy the process of making videos. But it’s a lot of work to create a DIY project, while filming it, and then edit a video for it.

Fortunately, it’s another creative outlet, just like writing these blog posts. And there’s always something new to learn.

2023 was a turning point on YouTube for me. Just at the tail end of the year, my channel got monetised. This means that after two years, I will earn money from the ads that play on my videos.

It’s a really exciting step for my channel.

Thank you to you if you are one of my subscribers (which doubled this year). Or have watched or commented on one of my videos. It makes a huge difference to smaller channels like mine.

Who knows what 2024 will bring?

1. Paint Wood Like Metal

This is also one of the most popular blog posts of 2023. This cabinet is about as unique as it gets.

This faux-metal look cabinet was so much fun to make. And a hit on YouTube too!

It’s perfect as a games console unit or for people who love an industrial look.

2. Apply Decoupage to Canvas

People can tell when you really like something that you create. And I love this one.

Firstly, it was a tutorial on how to apply decoupage paper to canvas. But then also how to blend the edges of the canvas to match the paper.

Now it’s such a lovely piece of decor in my home. The tutorial was helpful, and simple and had a pretty result. A winning combination.

3. Gingerbread People Christmas Sign

This was another adorable project. One of the Iron Orchid Designs’ new releases for Christmas in 2023.

Cute gingerbread people. Beginner-friendly tutorial. Christmas decor that will last. I can see why it was popular.

Also, the IOD community is amazing for sharing their creations. If you haven’t delved into them, it’s worth a look.

2. Iron Orchid Designs’ Christmas Transfers

These festive transfers are so beautiful. Animals like hedgehogs, deer and foxes with a Christmas feel. Just so charming.

I made 7 different projects from the two new transfer sets. And got all of the creations out again in December to use for my own Christmas decor.

There’s so much to be said for making things that really suit you.

When I was doing a makeover of my plastic uPVC front door, I knew it would be useful. For anyone searching to see if it was possible, I could tell them that it was.

Not just a pretty piece of decor but a useful and thorough explanation for how to paint your door right.
